List of large molecular models and crystal structure models 

This is a list of the commonest molecular models, crystal structure models and mineral structure models that we make, priced for models made with 18mm phenolic balls - these models are made on an approximate scale of 1Å = 2.5cm (1Å=1") . Most of the crystal structure models are made at a size that generates a structure of 1.3a x 1.3b x 1.3c unit cells in size - automatically creating a full coordination sphere around every atom position from the unit cell without requiring a model that is needlessly large.. Some highly acicular unit cells, such as calcite (R-3C), merit more extension along one or two axes in order to create a model that is both structurally robust and also looks well proportioned. Your models don't have to be these sizes, though- we are happy to make the models as large or as small as you wish by adding or removing balls and rods. As a guide, prices for larger or smaller models increase approximately in proportion to the volume of the model.
